Abandoned buildings are no rarity in Cleveland, but they tell just as much about Cleveland’s rich history as they do its current shortcomings. Jeffrey Stroup seeks to preserve and celebrate that history through photography.
On Fri 2/8, join Stoup and others in the launch of Abandoned Cleveland, a look at the echoes of Cleveland’s past before the sharp decline in population during the 1970s and ’80s. Stroup has been exploring those forgotten places all over Northeast Ohio and the country for the last 15 years. Hosted by Visible Voice Books in Tremont, this small book store sits in a growing arts area where you can almost forget what is just miles away in the neglected parts of the city.
Books will be available for purchase, as well as $3 beer and $6 wine. This event will be taking place during Walkabout Tremont, a monthly showcase of the arts in Tremont.
