Thu 2/7 @ 6-9PM
Sat 2/9 @ 1:30-5:30PM
How often can you go to an arts festival and say, “Hey look, I helped make that!” Brite Winter is a free, one-day festival held in the West Bank of the Flats. Its contributors include local creative professionals, groups like the Cleveland Museum of Art, partner artists, and everyday creators like you!
In collaboration with Ingenuity Cleveland (known for their annual IngenuityFest), public art workshops will support the art you see at Brite Winter and teach attendees the basics of things like upcycling and board game design. On Thu 2/7, local board game creators from Spontaneously Combustible Studio, artists, and you will come together to make a large-scale game for Brite attendees. Playing off this year’s theme of Onward, game-players will be taken on an exciting but mysterious train ride.
On the flip side, Sat 2/9’s Family Fun Day will take to the sky with paper plane-centered art activities. From 1:30-5:30pm, become a part of the giant paper plane installation featured at Brite Winter while also learning dyeing and folding techniques. Kid-friendly activities include paper marbling with shaving cream. Snacks and drinks will be provided!
The workshops take play at IngenuityLabs at the Hamilton Collaborative.
