The Beachland Ballroom celebrates its 19th anniversary with a weekend packed with special concerts. It starts Thursday with a big night of blues in the Ballroom featuring local blues veteran Crazy Marvin & the Blues Express, with Miss Buttercup, along with Gene Schwartz with Danny McFadden and the Elm Street Band. And that show is free. Over in the Tavern you can catch local songwriters GS Harper and Kate Kooser for $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
Friday Adrian Belew, guitarist with King Crimson, David Bowie and Frank Zappa, among others, will play in the Ballroom, with Saul Zonana opening, in the Ballroom, while Maryland-based Americana artist Joey Harkum and Cleveland trio personsplacesthings rock out in the Tavern.
Both Saturday’s show with Ty Segall and Sunday’s show with Matt Nathanson are sold out — proof that the Beachland is still the hot place to be after nearly two decades.
