Singer/Songwriter Jim Ballard and His Band the Strangs Preview Their Next Album at G.A.R. Hall

Sun 1/27 @ 7PM

Jim Ballard is one of the old-timers of the Cleveland acoustic singer/songwriter scene. He released his first album South Side Days back in 1976, followed by a few more in the late 70s and early-mid 80s.

There was a gap in his recordings until the ’00s, when he emerged with a more rocked-up sound, performing blue-collar roots rock a la Tom Petty or Bruce Springsteen. Last year, he released his 11th album, a double-disc set called Ask John Steinbeck, which featured the same songs played twice in different arrangements.

Now he’s got his next release, Good Bones, already teed up. So he and his band, the Strangs, will make a stop at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall to share some of the songs from the album, along with some of his old favorites. If you like what you hear, you’ll be able to pre-order the new CD that evening.

Admission is $15 in advance, $20 day of show.
