$5 OFF: moCa Celebrates 50th With Party: The New Agency

Sat 2/9

Who are the region’s new change-makers, the new avant-garde, the new experimenters? And how can you save $5 when you join the celebration?

The Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland (moCa) has invited over 50 of the region’s most active artists, DJ’s entrepreneurs, mixologists, writers, educators, filmmakers, ecologists, chefs, activists and technologists to help them celebrate their 50th anniversary year.

It was December 8, 1968 when three undaunted women opened Cleveland’s first contemporary art gallery, at a time when contemporary art wasn’t even really a thing. Marjorie Talalay, Nina Sundell and Aggie Gund were visionaries with connections to the coolest artists who were changing the world: Andy Warhol, Claus Oldenburg and Christo among them. The New Gallery, as it was called, became the Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, and then morphed into moCa. It’s time to connect the dots and throw a party.

The New Agency takes place on Sat 2/9, and opens with a VIP event from 8-9PM with exclusive access, special demonstrations by New Agency chefs, mixologists and artists featuring a full-night private lounge light fare, a drink ticket and top shelf private cash bar, with valet provided by Metro Lexus.

Everyone joins the fun at 9PM with Candi Fresca, hosts Ricky Smith and Bijou Star, and musical performances by musical performances by Case Barge, Punch Drunk Tagalongs, In Training, Mourning [A] BLKstar, and Sophie Benn, spoken word performances: Ali Black and Damien McClendon, a special performance from Inlet Dance featuring Dominic Moore-Dunson, capped with a burlesque performance featuring Ohio Burlesque

Be there and help stimulate innovation and create a little friction rubbing shoulders with The New Agency.
