For many people, Christmas Eve is a church-going time, with midnight services galore.
If you don’t have a home church, but would like to enjoy some seasonal music performed at a high level on Christmas Eve, consider stopping in at the University Circle United Methodist Church (the “oilcan” church across from the art museum lagoon).
There, soprano Dr. Angelique Clay, an assistant professor of voice at the University of Kentucky’s School of Music, will perform the church’s annual Christmas Eve in the Circle concert. Clay has performed in many operas as well as with the American Spiritual Ensemble, and performed with orchestras both in the U.S. and Europe.
She’ll be joined by the Cleveland-based Duffy Liturgical Dance Ensemble and the University Circle Choir. Both concerts are free and open to the public — which means everyone. The church is known for its devotion to diversity and inclusiveness. For more information call 216-421-1200 or go to ChurchInTheCircle.
