Fri 10/5-Sun 10/7
Cleveland has many stunning churches, many of them built by hand by craftspeople immigrants a hundred or more years ago. Few are as stunning as Slavic Village’s Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus, which still conducts masses in Polish as well as English.
A great time to visit is during its annual Polish festival, when it celebrates its culture in music, dance and, of course, food. Partake of pierogi, kielbasa, czarnina (duck soup) and Polish pastries before dancing of the calories to the music of Don Wojtila & Schnikelfritz (Friday), family band Box On (pictured) (Saturday) and Honky Express (Sunday). Vendors selling Polish imports, games of chance, tours of the spectacular church and mass at 5pm Saturday and 11:30am Sunday with grand organ, trumpets and tympani add to the experience. (There’s also a 10am Polish mass Sunday).
Admission is free and all activities are indoors, so don’t worry about the weather.

Manya Peters, Palfrey
Hi there, I’m so excited I looked this up. I’m 1/2 Polish from my Father, Stanley Peters, who was from all Polish background, and he was born and raised in Cleveland. He served in WW2 military. He was a Petrievolvski, but his father changed his name to Peters to be more Americanized. Any way, I was named Manya which is a Polish/Slavic name:)🥰!:) I’m from Lafayette, Louisiana but, my Polish Dad helped raise me in Baton Rouge, LA. Please send me some info by Mail about your Shrine church and polish festival. Sounds Awesome like God. Sincerely, Mrs. Manya Palfrey🌺🌈🐿🍀🙏🏼Go Polish
