Caterpillars are fascinating critters, even before they spin their cocoons and break out to become butterflies. Fuzzy or sleek, in a variety of patterns, they are distinctive in their own right.
At Geauga Park District’s Caterpillar Extravaganza at the West Woods Nature Center, visitors can observe native caterpillars on their host plants in a series of outdoor displays. They’ll be able to photograph them and even touch and hold some of them. You can also bring that caterpillar you found in your backyard to get it identified.
There’ll also be activities such as a face painter doing butterfly, moth and caterpillars designs, crafts, games and information on how to raise your own caterpillars. It’s free.
