The CAN Triennial, going on for the month of July at 78th Street Studios, was conceived as a way to showcase local artists alongside FRONT International Triennial, giving FRONT visitors a chance to check out NE Ohio’s creative talent.

The CAN Triennial also includes a two-weekend art fair in its Gallery Pavilion, where galleries and arts organizations from throughout Ohio will sell art ranging from painting to photography to prints and artist books and ceramics. That takes place Sat 7/14-Sun 7/15 @ noon-6pm and Fri 7/20 @ 5-9pm-Sun 7/22 @ noon-6pm.

In addition the CAN Triennial is presenting a series of music performances, with experimental music on Thursdays, classical music on Fridays and classical music on Saturdays, with all performances at 7pm. In Thu 7/12 check out the duo of percussionist Paul Stranahan and electronics maven Lisa Miralia, two mainstays of the Cleveland experimental scene, along with Carmen Castaldi and Mike Sopko. And on Fri 7/13, the Idle Twittering Flute Quartet plays.
