Wed 6/13
Wade Oval Wednesdays in University Circle kicked off their 14th season on a perfect summer evening with a red-hot display of classic soul music from Akron’s Wesley Bright & the Honeytones.
Music isn’t the only reason people flock to these every-Wednesday events. Some pack picnics; others buy food and treats from the many vendors and food trucks. Kids kicked balls and watch enthralled as a ballon artists crafts animals and swords; people of all ages hula hooped and played chess and join in on a Zumba class during the break between sets, conducted by Felicia Wesley, Wesley Bright’s mother.
Before the band took the stage, Linda Thomas Jones and her students — both adults and children —regaled the audience with a drumming display.
