Cleveland post rock duo Mossom — drummer Russ Herbert and bassist David Allen Moss — has just released a new instrumental single, titled “Mahalo.” The band says it was inspired by influences as disparate as surf-rock guitarist Dick Dale, prog-rock superstars Rush and even the rhythms of the Police; these guys are way beyond rock. The title is the Hawaiian word for “thanks.”
Mossom has accompanied the track with a video mini-documentary titled The Making of “Mahalo,” directed by Rob Montague. You can check out a trailer or the video here.
Find out where to hear the “Mahalo” at the band’s website.
You can catch Mossom at the Waterloo Arts Fest Sat 6/30, where they’ll be performing on the West End Stage at 15302 Waterloo @ 5:50pm.
