Sat 3/24 @ 1PM
Cleveland-based photographer/writer Anastasia Pantsios got her start in music photography as a theater student at Case Western Reserve when she snagged tickets to local concerts that were sent to the CWRU Observer and took her camera along to illustrate her reviews. Soon her work was appearing in national publications such as Creem, Hit Parader, Circus, Rolling Stone, the Village Voice and The New York Times, on record jackets and posters and in books.
In 2011 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum put together a show of her work titled “Girls on Film: 40 Years of Women in Rock,” which was re-installed for three months last year. She put together a book of the same title, which features all the photos in that show, plus a dozen more.
She’ll be doing a presentation at the Cleveland Print Room, showing some of her photos and talking about her path as a photography, the artists she’s shot and the challenges women face in the music industry. She’ll have her books available for purchase and signing.
The event is free.
