This time of year there are plenty of opportunities to see The Nutcracker. If you love those wonderful story ballets but yearn for something a little different, try Swan Lake, presented by the Russian Grand Ballet at the Stocker Arts Center in Elyria, which also contains lovely Tchaikovsky music and stage-filling corps de ballet numbers. (No kids as dancing mice though!)

The Russian Grand Ballet is offering a rare chance to see a full-length production of this classic work. Elsa Johnson and Victor Lucas fill us in on some of its history. Thu 11/16.

Stamy Paul fell in love with graffiti during her travels around the country. But when she had difficulty finding an artist to do graffiti at her house, she decided Cleveland needed an organization to promote street-style artists. So she founded Graffiti heART.

Ray Petro is familiar to the readers of CoolCleveland. His life story has lifted countless people as they witnessed his journey from a $1000-a-day cocaine and alcohol addiction to salvation through biking.

He built the world’s first indoor bike park, Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park, with his bare hands and the help of a growing crew of assistants 10 years ago. The massive 150,000 square foot playground for bikers just off W. 150th Street in Cleveland is jammed with adventure seekers from a dozen states each weekend during the season.

Ray took a bad spill on the trail recently and he is on a long road to recovery. We are all confident that Ray will bounce back as he faces and overcomes his latest challenge, just as he has done time and again. Ray has inspired countless kids and riders through the years. And now he needs our help. Join the GoFundMe campaign, which has already raised over $30K of a $150K goal to raise money for his medical expenses. GoFundMe.com/raypetro.
