Fri 8/11 @ 8PM
October Project’s harmony-laden, piano-driven “chamber pop” made a splash in the early-mid 90s with two albums on Epic Records, their self-titled 1993 debut and 1995’s Falling Farther In. They offered a contrast to the bludgeoning grunge and heavy underground sounds of the era, for audiences who liked music more subtle and refined.
Vocalist Mary Fahl was one of the key members of that version of October Project which disbanded in 1996. Since 2001 she’s had a solo career making music that captures the vibe of classic ’60s folk, influenced by artists such as bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell as well as Pink Floyd. She’ll perform at Peninsula’s rustic G.A.R. Hall Tickets are $30.
