Cleveland Artist Collective Acerbic Talks About Their Work at MOCA Cleveland

Sat 8/12 @ 2PM

Constant as the Sun, one of the current exhibits at MOCA Cleveland, contains several parts. One of those, Do Not Consider Us Forgotten, was created by a collective called acerbic — Donald Black Jr., Gabriel Gonzalez and Ali McClain — to focus on the experiences of people of color and how racism, violence and discrimination impact Cleveland neighborhoods. Their installation features large photos of inner-city Cleveland by Black and Gonzales, fronted by plexiglass panels featuring poems by McClain.

The trio of artists will be speaking at MOCA about their work, and McClain will read new poems inspired by Black and Gonzales’ work. It’s free and open to all.
