CiCLEvia Closes Detroit Avenue From Hingetown to Gordon Square for an Afternoon of Car-Free Fun

Sun 8/20 @ 1-5PM

The CiCLEvia events, which started last summer, were inspired by the ciclovias or “open streets” taking place in cities around the world. They involve closing off city streets to motor traffic for use by bicyclists, runners, walkers and skaters.

The Cleveland CiCLEvias take place in different west side neighborhoods each month where you’ll encounter not only open space for cycling, but performers, games and hands-on activities. This month the event with take over Detroit Avenue from West 29th in Ohio City to West 67th in Gordon Square. There’ll be zumba, tai chi, capoeira, DJs, tours of Talespinner Children’s Theatre at 52nd and Detroit, music by the Baker’s Basement and even adoptable dogs from City Dogs.

It’s free.
