Bike for Beck Benefits Beck Center Arts Programs

Sat 8/19 @ 7AM

Join the crowd supporting the robust arts programs for all ages at Lakewood’s Beck Center for the Arts at its 6th annual Bike for Beck event.

Yeah, you’re going to have to get up early; the first group of cyclists takes off to ride through the Metroparks at 7am, although the last group will leave at 9:15am, choosing a 12-, 25- or 60-mile ride. Registration is $40 per ride, which includes a T-shirt and rider packet. Riders under 12 are free with a paid adult.

Then it’s back to the Beck for a free arts and music festival from 9:30am-1pm with activities for the whole family including Hear & Touch with Music in the Mackey Theater, improv comedy from resident sketch comedy group Something Dada, yoga with Towpath Fitness, face painting and more on the Beck lawn, including performances on the outdoor stage by the Big Finish Band and singer/songwriter Olivia Martinez. There’ll be food trucks there too. Although it’s free, registration is required. Call 216-521-2540 x 10 or go to beckcenter.org.
