Award-winning composer and electronic music pioneer Tom Hamilton and seasoned underground experimental sound performer Al Margolis (If, Bwana) come to Survival Kit Gallery in the 78th Street Studios (Go ALL the way to the top floor). These two have decades of experience performing solo and in collaboration with artists like William Hooker, Pauline Oliveros, Robert Ashley and more.
They arrive with two distinct sets. Their first set is as a duo, while their second set is their performance of Hamilton’s piece, “City of Vorticity.” It includes local improvising soloists participating and being live mixed into the electro-acoustic piece, as they interact with the electronics.
Local experimental electronic harpist Stephan Haluska will open the night. Admission is $10.
