The Cleveland Water Alliance is aiming to get young people started thinking about protecting the quality of our water with its High School Hack-a-thon at the Global Center for Health Innovation downtown.
Students from around the Great Lakes region are being invited to compete for a grand prize of $1,000 by submitting ideas on the topic of “Connecting Communities to the Value of Water.” Teams of five students from area high schools will spend the day (10 hours!) brainstorming potential solutions to the challenges facing Lake Erie.
It leads up to the Erie Hack Competition and Water Innovation Summit taking place Tue 5/2-Wed 5/3 in Cleveland where teams will compete for an even larger prize of $40,000 in the finals, as they present their ideas and get to hear expert speakers and panels on water-related issues. The summit open to everyone. There’s more information about registering here.
