Fri 1/6-Sun 1/8
There’s never a bad time to drop in at the Cleveland Museum of Art. But this weekend, in addition to exploring the galleries, you can also check out The Crossing: David Lang’s Lifespan.
It centers on a Hadean-period rock sample more than 4 billion years old which is suspended from the ceiling. Three “vocalists” whistle and breathe on the rock, causing it to make subtle moves, suggesting a connection between Earth’s early years and today.
Performances take place Fri 1/6 @ 4, 5, 6, 7, 7:45 and 8:30pm, and on Sat 1/7 and Sun 1/8 at noon, 1, 2, 3 and 4 pm in gallery 218. It’s free and no registration is required.
