Fri 12/23 @ 8PM

Cleveland band the Boys From the County Hell were formed to do their tribute to the rowdy, drunken Irish band the Pogues around about St. Patrick’s Day.

With many of the same members as holiday band the Ohio City Singers, these musicians have been pretty busy lately, coming off their run of Christmas shows and a brand-new Christmas album. But as usual, they find time to work in a quick warm-up for their next holiday season in March with a show at the House of Blues. There they’ll most likely perform the Pogues’ 1987 ditty “Fairytale of New York,” a sort of anti-Christmas carol that finds the narrator in the drunk tank.

Cleveland’s Mary’s Lane, who have been regaling the local with Irish music forabout seven years, open. Tickets are $14 in advance, $17 at the door.
