Fri 11/25 & Sat 11/26 @ 11AM-4PM
If the kids are getting antsy and the relatives are getting testy over the long holiday weekend, bring them down to the Great Lakes Science Center, where a package of demonstrations and interactive activities called Turkey Tech will be going on.
Some of the activities will be holiday-themed such as a demonstration on the physics of (turkey) flight and a challenge to create a device to launch a turkey into a pot using a 3-D printer. Others are just plain fun (and educational) such as working with a group to design a protective shield to drop an egg from the top of the center’s atrium (80-feet) without breaking it.
There will be plenty more going on as well, including film screenings in the center’s new DOME Theater including a special afterhours screening of the Thanksgiving-themed comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles Saturday at 6pm. Go to GreatScience for the complete rundown. All activities are free with regular admission; the afterhours film screening is $11.
