Fri 9/30 @ 8PM
Akron-born pianist Kofi Boakye has honed his skills performing and acting as musical director with area church choirs, praise teams and gospel plays. He’s also served as organist for the National Children’s Choir and National Men’s Choir at the Gospel Workshop of America. And he’s excelled academically at Akron’s Miller South School for Visual and Performing Arts.
And somehow, he’s managed to find time to record an album. That CD, Made in Akron, will be released at the Akron Civic Theatre as part of its intimate Club @ the Civic series in a cabaret setting. Tickets are $15.
