The Tremont Arts & Culture Festival goes into its 18th year with more than 130 vendors divided into five festival “villages” inside Lincoln Park. They include a food area, an area featuring nonprofit organizations and local independent merchants, a children’s area with hands-on things to do, and of course the artists’ village with the usual array of artists and craftspeople in a wide range of media. Last year, the festival added a fifth area: a collection of tents featuring artists who live or work in Tremont.
There are also three stages with entertainment, including a children’s stage, a small acoustic stage and a large stage, along with roving artists, reflecting the area’s cultural diversity. Catch Irish, polish, Greek and African musicians and dancers, a Chinese dance ensemble and belly dancers, blues, bluegrass, salsa and Americana artists, the St. Augustine Signing Choir and even Sascha Peppercorn, the living doll (pictured)
And new for 2016 — something new each year! — there will be a beer-wine-spirits garden for the grown-ups. It’s all free.
