No one seems to know how many campaign offices Hillary Clinton has in Cuyahoga County. 10? 12? New ones seem to be opening every day, with celebrities flocking to Ohio to help celebrate their openings — a sign of how crucial our state is in the upcoming election.
An overflow crowd showed up to mark the opening of the Ohio City/Flats office on Columbus Road across from Hoopple’s and alongside the Cuyahoga River. It was a stunningly diverse crown — male and female, young and old, black, white, Hispanic and Asian. It included two city councilmen — Kerry McCormick, whose Ward 3 it’s in, and Matt Zone from Ward 15.
Special guests included the so-called “Arkansas Travelers,” guests from the state of Arkansas who knew the Clintons “back when,” and told tales about their time in the state and what they accomplished there. Although he was running late, almost everyone stayed to hear engaging actor Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings, Goonies) talks about why it was important to him as the son of a strong mother (Miracle Worker actress Patty Duke), married to a strong wife for 24 years, and the father of three daughters, to see Hillary Clinton is the White House.
You’ll welcome to stop in any time to volunteer! The address is 1921 Columbus Road and there’s plenty of free parking.
