Not that there’s a bad time to visit Hale Farm & Village in the Cuyahoga Valley, but there are few lovelier times to get out in that neck of the woods than the fall. So head out into the country for Hale Farm & Village’s annual Harvest Festival, taking place this weekend and next.
This one is geared to the historical re-creation theme that runs throughout Hale Farm’s buildings and attractions, featuring the kinds of fall activities 19th century Ohio’s might have taken part in, including wagon rides, apple butter churning, cider pressing, and those fall festival standbys, a corn maze and pumpkin decorating. You can even chat with “Johnny Appleseed.”
Of course, all the regular Hale Farm attractions will be on view including demonstrations of crafts like weaving, spinning, candle dipping, glassblowing and blacksmithing, and artisans producing their handmade items for sale. All the historic buildings will be open for tours and the Hale Café will be serving seasonal foods.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 3-12.
