Fri 7/8 @ 6-8:30PM
In World Tour with Alexander Befelein, the German artist depicts cityscapes in etchings that are both derailed and impressionistic, capturing the auras of cities like Boston, Washington DC, Paris, London, Florence, Athens, Islanbul and Dubai.
The show, opening at the Harris Stanton Gallery, also features for the first time some of his original watercolors. And, says the gallery, “to celebrate all that is going on about town for the Republican National Convention we commissioned Befelein to create an etching of Cleveland! It is a small edition of 100 prints and focuses on some of the most recognizable buildings in the skyline. Befelein also completed two exquisite watercolors of Cleveland, also to be included in the exhibition.”
The free opening reception will feature a short talk about Befelein by gallery owner Meg Harris Stanton. The show runs though Sat 8/6.
