Cavotta’s Garden Center in Collinwood is known for the many varieties of heirloom tomatoes grown from seed by third-generation owner Angela Cavotta in her greenhouses. They’re a profusion of colors, sizes and tastes. Each spring, you can buy varieties for your garden that you won’t find anywhere else, and come July, you can stop in — if you’re quick enough and they’re not all gone — and get the tomatoes from her harvest.
And if you are a tomato lover, you’ll want to come to her tomato-tasting party, where she’ll offer samples of different varieties as well as appetizers and beverages made using tomatoes.
