With so many art-making businesses in the Waterloo Arts District, the Waterloo Arts Fest provides more opportunities than most festivals for hands-on creativity — working a loom, playing  with clay, creating a print, even banging on “musical” instruments made from junk.

The festival also featured multiple stages with everything from rock and roll, to spoken word, to the vaudeville of Pinch and Squeal; street performers; offerings from local artists and craftspeople; information tables from government agencies, unions and nonprofit groups; and plenty to eat.
