The weather was perfect if a little warm for the 8th annual Larchmere Porchfest. Nearly three dozen bands played on the porches of residents on the side streets off Larchmere as well as business patios, while people stood on sidewalks, leaned on their bicycles or set up their camp chairs on lawns to listen. Among the acts playing were George Foley & John Richmond’s traditional jazz duo, ’60s-style symphonic pop/rock group Cities & Coasts, folk rockers Maura Rogers & the Bellows, psychedelic blues/rock band SamFox and hip hop/reggae act Wildlife Soundz. There was plenty of food and drink from vendors set up on the sidewalks or in parking lots, and many of the local businesses displayed their wares in front of the stores, showing off the variety of offerings on this busy boulevard.
