Startup Scaleup, sponsored by JumpStart, returns to Gordon Square for the second year to focus on one of Cleveland’s greatest strengths: its entrepreneurs and their innovative spirit. It offers them and those who want to support them the chance to meet, to network and to learn about opportunities and ideas.
The all-day event (expanded from a half day last year) aimed at entrepreneurs and small business owners includes panels, workshops and networking times, along with a pitch competition where those with great ideas can pitch them to those with the means to back them. There are 40 different sessions in various venues centered on the corner of Detroit and W. 65th.
Registration starts at 9am at Near West Theatre; the first sessions start at 10. Officials programming ends at 6pm although there will be informal evening events at Gordon Square venues such as TechPint at the Happy Dog.
Cost is $20 for the full day, $10 for a half a day but that will be returned to attendees in meal tickets — a $10 lunch ticket and two $5 snack tickets for those who attend all day, two $5 snack tickets for half-day attendees. Pick those up at Near West Theatre even if you register online.
