If you’ve been wondering where to find your Sedum ternatum or a beautiful Hairy Alumroot, you’ll discover all this and more at the Holden Arboretum Plant Sale Sat 05.17- Sun 05.18.16. We visited the members preview on 05.16.16.
You’ll find a tent full of Holden propagated wildflowers for sale as well as unique selections from local garden centers and nurseries. Then drop off your purchases at their convenient “holding tent” to pick up later and take a stroll through one of the most beautiful gardens and natural landscapes in Ohio.
Don’t miss the 220 step climb up the Emergent Tower where you can see all the way to Lake Erie. The Canopy Walk has also reopened for the season and you can literally sway with the trees as you walk through the blossoming branches.
Each time we visit Holden Arboretum we like to seek out a new area. Heading south, we walked through a dazzling azalea display towards the Hourglass Pond and Conifer Collection where we found bluebirds and goldfinches swooping through the fields happily announcing that spring is in full swing at our Arboretum.
