Author Peggy Orenstein has created quite a splash in the media and on the Internet with her latest book, Girls & Sex: Navigating the Complicated New Landscape. She interviewed more than 70 young women in high school and college to learn what they got out of sex, and found — not much. She found that girls got mixed messages about what they should feel and as a result most cared more about the partner’s pleasure than their own, and knew little about satisfying themselves.
Orenstein will be at the Hudson Library & Historical Society to talk about her book and her conversations with young women. The program is free. For more information call 330-653-6658 or go to hudsonlibrary.org.
