Horse-Themed Party Raises Money for @NeosDanceTheatr

NEOS

Sat 5/7 @ 4PM

As all you dance history buffs are well aware, horses have been part of ballet from its very beginning. Renaissance court dances, those glorified costume parades of yore, included aristocrats showing off on their horses. And some ballet steps, for instance, cabriole, were performed first by horses.

So, with history in mind, it’s not at all strange for a contemporary ballet company, Neos Dance Theatre, to do an annual fundraiser, Boots and Ballet, at an equestrian center.

It all starts at 4 pm with live streaming of the Kentucky Derby and pre-Derby races projected onto a large screen. And there’s live local bands, cash bar, silent auction, races, food vendors, dancing to live music, and Neos Dance Theatre performances throughout the night. Sounds like fun to us.

It takes place Sat 5/7 @ 4-11pm at Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Mansfield. VIP tickets are $50, general admission is $25, students and seniors are $15. See additional event information and purchase tickets HERE or at neosdancetheatre.org. Tickets can also be reserved by phone 330-595-4650 or purchased at the door.
