This is your invitation to join our Glam Brunch on Sun 6/5 at noon at the BOP STOP. Our Brunch With Bowie sold out 3 times, so secure the edge of your seat now.

Fifteen years ago, Fred Gearhart decided to give up teaching high school science to focus full-time on his passion for sculpture, something he had tinkered with since HE was in high school.

Now the artist, who works primarily in stone, but also in wood and cast bronze, hosts an annual open house and workshop in his Cleveland Heights back yard, nestling large and small works among the garden plants and offering his affordable pieces for sale. John Benson talks to Gearhart about his distinctive way of sharing his work. Sat 5/28 & Sun 5/29.

Come this weekend to visit with re-enactors as they plan for the war and reflect on the outcome none of the real actors could have guessed. No ribs served. Sat 5/28 & Sun 5/29.

If you were around before Euclid Beach closed in 1969 and were very small, chances are you were too scared to go on some of the rides, despite that they were a fraction the size of today’s amusement park attractions. With such dramatic bookends to his presidency, it’s easy to forget his achievements. The new HBO documentary All the Way focuses on a major one: the 1964 passage of the Civil Rights Act. CoolCleveland columnist C. Ellen Connally reflects on the background and meaning of that act in Johnson’s legacy.
