Reunited NeoSoul Vocal Duo Floetry Performs @MusicBoxCle

Floetry

Tue 4/19 @ 8PM

British neo-soul duo, Natalie Stewart and Marsha Ambrosius, formed in 1999 just in time to ride the wave of interest in classic-sounding soul music with a contemporary twist. Moving to the U.S., first to Atlanta and later to Philadelphia, the two released a pair of critically acclaimed major label albums, 2002’s Floetry and 2005’s Flo’Ology and a live album, 2003’s Floacism. They picked up a flock of Grammy nominations and some Soul Train Lady of Soul Train awards and wrote songs for other hot neosoul artists of the time like like Jill Scott and northeast Ohio’s Macy Gray.

In 2005, they went their separate ways. But they reunited last year and they’re currently on the road. Can a new album be far behind? Meanwhile they’ll performat the Music Box Supper Club with Jamaican vocalist Kris Kelli opening. Reserved seating is $55.
