Have an Easter Eggsperience @GLScienceCtr

Eggsperiment

Fri 3/25 @ 10AM-5PM

Sat 3/26 @ 10AM-5PM

The Great Lakes Science Center always manages to find both the fun and the educational aspect in any holiday. Its Eggsperiment: Spring into Science celebrates spring and the Easter season with a whole bunch of activities relating to eggs and the things you can do with them.

Learn if it’s possible to stand on a carton of eggs without cracking any, whether there’s a way for an egg to survive an 80-foot drop and whether it’s true that eggs only balance upright during the spring or fall equinox due to the perfect tilt of the Earth.

Find out why eggs are shaped the way they are and learn about the chemistry of the dyes found in those garishly colored candies found in Easter baskets. Help build a bridge from candy and other commons items and launch eggs into a basket to learn about force and angles. Events take place all day at different locations in the center and they’re free with regular admission: $15 for adults, $12 for kids 2-12.

Note: The Great Lakes Science Center, usually open Sundays, will be closed Easter Sunday 3/27.
