Fiddler Eileen Albers is no starry-eyed tyro in the world of Irish music. New York-born of Irish parents, she took to the music as a child and later was a founding member of the beloved Cherish the Ladies in 1985. In 1995, she joined the touring company of Riverdance. She’s performed with some four dozen orchestras, Sting, Hall and Oates, the Chieftains, Patti Smith and Al Di Meola.

She’s got an ambitious new release just out called Beyond the Bog Road, which tells the story of the Irish immigrants to America, showing how their music, dance and culture cross-fertilized with others including Appalachian, Cajun, bluegrass and French Canadian. She wrote, produced and played fiddle, banjo and mandolin on the album, using guest vocalists and musicians. She’ll bring the show and her four-player band to the Kent Stage. Tickets are $25-$35.
