Sat 4/2 @ 9AM-3PM
Boys Go Science is a boys-only program at the Great Lakes Science Center, featuring presentations and hands-on activities designed to get boys in grades 6-12 intrigued by science. The daylong workshop will feature male scientists who will expose boys to potential career in the STEM fields —science, technology, engineering and math.
Activities will include such things as “Creative Chemistry: The Art of Making Paint,” sponsored by Cleveland’s Sherwin-Williams in which participants can explore how paint is made, how colors are created and what paint can do. It’s just one of the things boys will get to hear about and do at the event. Tickets are $30 and include a keynote speaker, two workshops, lunch and a T-shirt. Scholarships are available.
And if you’re saying indignantly, “It’s not BOYS whose interest in science needs to be encouraged — it’s GIRLS,” don’t worry. Girls Go Science is coming up of Sat 4/23, and they can pre-register here.
