No matter how many times you go, there’s always something new at the 78th Street Studios Third Friday artwork. Each month, it seems, there’s a new space you haven’t explored in the sprawling four-story building, and many of the old spaces are transformed each month by the gallerists and artists who inhabit them.
A highlight this month was the opening of the fabric-based show Threaded at HEDGE Gallery, featuring the world of three area artists who work in textiles of various types. Libby Chaney’s patchwork wall hangings from vintage fabrics, Rebecca Cross’s airy silken pieces and Jessica Pinsky’s asymmetrical weavings, blending colors in an artful way comprised a feast for the eyes.
