Elle King didn’t exactly come out of nowhere. The 26-year-old singer/songwriter/ rocker released her debut EP more than three years ago and her debut album Love Stuff hit the streets almost a year ago. Her single, “Ex’s & Oh’s,” with a distinctively retro rockabilly styling which stands out from the rest of today’s radio hits, was released in the fall of 2014 and was a slow burner. It eventually made the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100, as well as its Mainstream, Hot Rock, Adult Top 40 and Adult Contemporary charts, and scored two nominations for this year’s Grammy awards.
She was originally scheduled to play the Grog Shop but quickly outgrew that venue so the Grog’s promoters moved her show to the Masonic Auditorium. Tickets are $25.
