Alex P. Michaels is one of many locals who have a vision of making Cleveland a movie capital. His company, Prelude2Cinema, is now opening its Cinema Accelerator at the LaunchHouse in Shaker Heights, a facility that was founded to support and grow fledgling businesses. The goal of the Cinema Accelerator, he says, is to increase knowledge of how to male independent films.
Curious, or just want to chat about the local film scene? He’s hosting “Mondays with the Film Czar” every Monday evening in October.
“So what will we talk about?” he says. “I am working on a Cinema Accelerator that will help movies be produced here by the film community on a steady basis. Anyone interested in movies being shot on a regular basis in Northeast Ohio is more than welcome.”
He suggests RSVP’ing “in case something comes up and the office is closed,” because he says he’s working on a film.
