Sat 7/25 @ 3-9PM
The second annual Sips & Swigs takes place in Ohio City, at St. Ignatius High School’s Kyle Field. Nearly a dozen local and regional craft breweries will be offering samples of their products in a neighborhood that is becoming a destination for beer lovers from all over with its constantly increasing number of breweries and beer-related businesses.
The Boca Loca Burrito Factory truck will be on site providing food, and there’ll be a cornhole tournament and live entertainment. A tasting ticket is $60; a non-tasting/designated driver ticket is $25. That includes a souvenir glass. The event raises money for the West Side Catholic Center which helps those who may not yet have been able to join enjoy the benefits of Ohio City’s gentrification, providing food, clothing, housing and general assistance to those in need.
Going on alongside the fundraiser until 9 pm, outside the cordoned off area at Kyle Field, will be the Neat West Fiesta, a free community festival with a Latin flavor, featuring student and communities musicians and dance groups from the Julia de Burgos Cultural Center, Arrupe and the Music Settlement. At 7pm, Cleveland’s BlueWater Chamber Orchestra will join with tango band the Oblivion Project to perform the music of legendary Argentinian tango composer Astor Piazzolla.
