In addition to the concerts taking place inside various PlayhouseSquare theaters, the Tri-C JazzFest again put together a two-day line-up of diverse local talent on an outdoor stage on the PlayhouseSquare Plaza. Parade the Circle puppets wove through the plaza during Revolution Brass band’s set, while JazzFest volunteers handed out Mardi Gras beads.
TCJF SoundWorks showed off the chops of some of the area’s best jazz musicians, and bassist John Clayton joined Tri-C culinary staff arts to do a cooking demo. Later on Get Hep Swing gave a swing dancing lesson, and dancers crowded the plaza during sets by Moustache Yourself and Red Light Roxy, doing music that harked back to the ’30s and ’40s, respectively.
