John W. Carlson and Shari Wilkins use “vernacular” photography — amateur and found photos — as the starting point for their works currently on display at the Cleveland Print Room. Wilkins uses them as a springboard for his drawings and paintings, while Wilkins alters the original image. The show opened on Fri 7/24 and runs through 8/28. Here are some shots from the opening reception.

Hi – Could you please correct John W. Carlson’s name in both the headline (it’s not “Watson”) and in the text of the article (it’s not “Carson”)? Thanks! Great photos of the event!
