Thu 7/9 – Sat 7/11
The Italian American-Festival is back for the 68th year. In 2014 over 50,000 people visited the fest, held at Akron’s Lock 3, to enjoy everything Italian.
What to expect this year: Italian and popular music, wedding soup tastings, a parade, spaghetti dinner, homemade wine contest and, on Saturday night, a fireworks display. The event is sponsored by the Council of Italian-American Societies of Summit County, an organization of various Italian-American Societies founded in 1947 and called into existence by the Sicilian-American Society for the purpose of celebrating Columbus Day.
