Maureen McGovern Plays Nighttown Benefit for Cedar Fairmount Neighborhood

MaureenMcGovern

Fri 6/26 @ 8PM

Most people will remember Youngstown’s Maureen McGovern as the big-voiced, dramatic singer who had a huge hit in 1972 with “The Morning After” from the disaster film The Poseidon Adventure, and a smaller hit in 1974 with “We May Never Love Like This Again” from another disaster film The Towering inferno.

Her career may have peaked in the ’70s but she’s kept busy. Since then she’s done some Broadway shows, some musical theater and some concert work with orchestras, as well as putting out an occasional album.

She’ll be in town at Nighttown to perform a special benefit concert for the Cedar Fairmount Special Improvement Businesses — that is, the businesses in the Cedar Fairmount district where Nighttown is located.

Tickets are $80.
