Jazz sax player/composer Tom Tallitsch, based in the New York area, has established a beachhead there as a performer, music educator and host of The Modern Jazz Radio Show put of Trenton, New Jersey.

He’s a regular in New York City jazz venues and other clubs along the east coast. He’s released six albums, including his latest, All Together Now, and collaborated extensively with choreographers and served as music director for a multi-media dance company founded by his wife, a former Martha Graham dancer.

Talltisch, who was raised in Westlake and Bay Village before heading to the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music to get his B.A., will celebrate a double-barreled homecoming this week when he performs at Akron’s Blu Jazz on Friday and Cleveland’s Bop Stop on Saturday, with a trio including drummer Jordan Young and organist Brian Charette.

Tickets for Blu Jazz are $10; Bop Stop tickers are $12.
