The race is on. Remember those derby cars the Boy Scouts would make? Well, if you still have one, dig it out and put it to the test at Cleveland’s most creative competition — the Artwood Derby.
Organized by SPACES, the Artwood Derby consists of a track that’s approximately 36 feet long, with a 4 foot vertiginous drop. Cars are powered by gravity alone. Celebrity announcers will make the call, cameras will capture the thrilling finish and the results will be tallied.
Old cars from childhood will compete, along with newly made cars. Points are awarded for Corniest, Hottest Mess, Fastest (of course), and more. Come on down — to watch or participate.
