Cuyahoga Community College student Magdalis Galarza will represent Cleveland in the 2015 Ultimate Culinary Clash cooking and scholarship competition in San Francisco. There, on May 6th, she’ll test her cooking skills against other students from North and South America.
Galarza, who works as a sauté chef at Fire Food & Drink, won the local competition with her impressive concoctions. Her menu featured an appetizer of shrimp ceviche and golden brown coconut arepa; an entrée of grilled skirt steak with creamy horseradish aioli and potato-cauliflower fritter; and a dessert of passion fruit mousse with lace almond cookie and dark chocolate.
